Training Programmes
Outcome
An STCW Electro-Technical Officer of the Watch Certificate of Competency, plus the following academic award:
- Foundation Degree (This programme is currently only available at South Shields Marine School and Fleetwood Nautical College).
- Higher National Diploma (this programme is currently only available at Warsash Maritime and Glasgow City College).
Minimum Entry Requirements
The minimum entry requirements are 48 UCAS points including a numerate subject plus GCSE at grade C or above in Maths (preferably higher tier, English and Science (with significant Physical Science content).
Framework
Phase 1 (At College): 30 wks.
Phase 2 (Sea & Leave): 5 mths.
Phase 3 (At College): 30 wks.
Phase 4 (Sea & Leave): 7mths.
Phase 5 (At College): 25 wks.
Industrial Experience/Sea Service
Watchkeeping
Start Dates
September each year, with more limited options to commence training in January each year.
